Appreciate it just as it is and consider yourself fortunate that you have such an excellent gun.

A high power cut is when the make/machine the front part of your slide to look like a Browning hi power pistol by removing some material.

I say this politely and respectfully. Don't get so wrapped up in silly aesthetics. Enjoy.
The 1911 quickly evolved into a platform that is all about aesthetics. Without doubt, one of the most customizable and aesthetically pleasing pistols available, which is why the 1911 sticky in handguns gallery is nearing a million views, and has over 3,200 posts.

The 1911 is to pistols what the AR is to rifles.

I would go that route but I can't seem to find a buyer. I thought $1400 was a fair price considering the tijicon sights and od frame. The factory did the work and the condition is mint.

The TRP is on roster right? Everyone is busy buying up SSE guns that it has to be a pretty good deal to sell right now.

I believe the trijicon sights are standard, at least they were on my TRP. the OD frame is personal preference I think, I'd argue it actually makes it harder to sell even at the same price point as an all black kote TRP.

with SSE ending, if you really wanted to go this route with a valor you may have to drop the price and eat the price difference just to get it done in time.

I'd say right now you could probably move the TRP for 1300, 1200-1250 would probably get you a quick sale. You can get a stainless dw valor for 1400 + fees you would really be out any additional $ considering you wanted to buy an entire slide. A duty coat valor would run you another $300, but if it was me I'd just consider it an "upgrade" cost.

The valor really is an upgrade over the TRP as well, not just the FCS. I have the specialist and a TRP and honestly the DW is better in just about every way possible (still love the TRP and still have it) but the TRP has been getting neglected because of the DW

I prefer to have mine built up from the mil-spec or GI frame. That being said, if all you don't like is the FCS I'd keep the TRP or have the custom shop work make it the way you like. You'll probably get it back before you could even pick up a new pistol. It seems there is always a new flavor of the month, but SAI has never done me wrong.

You could also sell the slide and pick up a caspian from brownell's and send it to the SACS or find a local smith to fit the parts. My guess is you'd come out close enough to make it worth while.

                            Keenkeen, those cuts look nice!

For OP ..... Not mine but the work SACs can do to a trp to remove the FCS and add carry cuts.

For whatever reason SA said it cannot duplicate the look like the example Soulstealer posted. So now let's talk about Will O'Hara. What is his email?
