So I have a TRP but I have grown to dislike the front serrations as my tastes have changed. I called SA today to ask about buying a custom slide and was told they do not sell them. Any suggestions

Your gun, do what makes you happy. One of my TRPs has been "used" so much that the finish has started to wear significantly in some spots and rusting. I just oil it and run a brush to get it off, and keep shooting. I'll eventually get it refinished, but I like the beat up look. hahahaha Best of luck either way, just remember to keep shooting.

They can remove them at the Springfield Custom Shop. Might cost you a few hundred in milling and refinish, but you'll get exactly what you want.

You could always send your slide to Springfield and have them remove the FCS. I don't remember what they call it but it's been called hi power cuts or carry cut. Funny enough, a member on here with the name press check had that done on a Springfield 9mm 1911 and it looked great.

I am not a fan of FCS either since I don't believe in putting your hands anywhere close to the muzzle while press checking.

I press check a lot so I love them.

I say this politely and respectfully. Don't get so wrapped up in silly aesthetics. it's an awesome gun. Take the $500 you would've spent on swapping slides and take a firearms class. The more you shoot your gun, the less you care how it looks. Enjoy.

You can get an aftermarket slide, which are available anyway you would like them, and have it fit to your frame and barrel.

I like the idea of building up a Mil-spec to your needs. Of course, another route you can take, OP, is just to sell your TRP and get a Pro instead.

A better gun, has no ugly billboarding on it and has no FCS. You can't ask for more.

I have a Hi Power and so I have always liked the look as well. I have always wondered if removing that much material from the slide would take away from the longevity of the slide.
