Desert Eagle have serious quality problems

Two months ago I use SSE buy a Desert Eagle brushed chrome version, the beginning it was a very beautiful very shiny gun, I put it on my computer desk as a craft to watch, But I found that it become not look the same, the gun began signs of corrosion, Then I wrote an email to magnum research hopes to solve this problem, because at least I have not seen a chrome-plated surface rust at room temperature, but their customer service bad to not imagine. They replied to me the chrome is metal, so it will rust, Once again, I ask them Is the air of my house is more corrosive than sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid? Then they shirk their responsibilities immediately said it was because I did not give the gun a layer of oil.
So I hope for help, what can I do now if they continue to shirk their responsibilities and not repair, how should I handle this event, I want to take legal proceedings, but did not know how. Then I hope when you want to buy a Desert Eagle at the time, please consider carefully!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is their reply to my e-mail, Please note this is a chrome plated gun, and only bought two months.

If it is not properly maintained it will rust. Chrome is a metal that can
easily rust if not maintained. We would be happy to address the magazine
release but the finish would not be covered under warranty. If the gun is
not properly oiled it will continue to rust as well.

Chrome is porous to some degree. What is corroding is the metal beneath the
thin plating. This does not happen to a gun that is well oiled.

Please refer to the warranty information on page 28 of your owner's manual
(attached.) Failure to provide proper care and maintenance is not covered
under the 1 year factory warranty. A gun that is properly oiled will not
rust. If you would like to have the gun refinished in brushed chrome the
    cost will be $500.00.

New e-mail reply from their customer service

If we detect a plating issue it would be covered under warranty but it is
not. Every finish Desert Eagle will rust if not maintained properly from
black to gold. There is but one option I am afraid and that is a
non-warranty refinish either through us or someone else.

Question did you shoot the gun or ran some lubricant through the gun before putting it on display?

Wow that's pretty bad for such a pricey gun.

I honestly don't understand how Stainless Steel can rust like that and in such a short amout of time.

It's not stainless steel, it's chrome plated, which is supposed to be even more corrosion resistant.

                  Interesting case!

Does someone in your house cook a lot and/or do you have 8 people running though the showers steaming the joint up but good on a daily basis?

If "no" could it be happening without you knowing, like when you are gone at work?

Any chance some one else took the gun out for a 'test drive' and when they put it back "all clean" they didn't use oil?

Any relatives with Alzheimer who also know how to clean a pistol?

Maybe your "thin" was in fact wiping it all off?

Get a $3 combo "Thermometer with Humidity" from Walmart to get base reading on gun's home.

I got a hard time believing your gun just happened to be a freak defect especially since rust is showing all over on different parts from diff steel billet.

WAIT A MINUTE, that doesn't LOOK "chrome plated" which IIRC should be basically mirror, more or less. Did you buy it "new, chrome plated"??? Maybe they dipped in pre-chrome acid bath and then the next guy grabbed it and put it together.

Maybe a "bad chrome" job, but what about the inside of the barrel???

Do you live at the beach? That's pretty nasty. Did the Manufacturer offer anything in way of a remedy? maybe scrub the crap out of it and cerakote afterwards?

Wait I thought Military Arms Channel did a review of IWI's warranty and according to them its is by far the best in the business.

Chrome does rust. Not defending the mfg. How long have you had it? How often was it handled?
Palm sweat is very corrosive and some people's more than others. I hope the will help you out. Any and all weapons need to be wiped down with an oily rag before it is put down for the night.

Why use something meant for frogs when Eezox is available? I realize it is a little late to tell you now. And I have heard of finish issues with the black DE, but this is the first I've heard about "chrome" getting like that from sitting around indoors. Do keep in mind that human sweat is salty. Is their chrome chrome? Or more like Butter "flavoured" toping? Sorry about your loss.
