Been going to ASR for twenty years with plenty of LE coming and going.
Never seen anyone ask about an individual weapon. I saw a guy who
had three what looked to be RAWs with hi caps and LE never even
gave him a second look. Pete

Yeah, it's kind of like when you get pulled over for a moving violation while driving, and you get off with a verbal warning... but they decide to tack on a fix-it ticket for not having a front license plate. This has happened to me a few times in my driving lifetime...

The only interactions with LEO I've had with guns, was there seems to be the guys (usually gun guys them selves) who don't care and just want to be on their way. And then the LEO's who think every AR looking gun is an assault weapon and claim everything about the gun is illegal.

There is usually never a middle man. Either complete ignorant pee on who wants to make the bust of the year, or the laid back guy who just wants to close the call and be on.

Yeah. Most cops I know understand that "shall not be infringed" doesn't apply ONLY when busting a low life gang banger. Other than that, many are Marines, and they are not too thrilled that we have a bunch of low life commies passing "laws" on the backs of the law abiding.

Also, I'd say heavily debated is a bit of a stretch. More of, constantly asked because people just can't live with the determination of "iffy" as an answer.

Weather it be yes, no or maybe people still ask and ask and ask. Just like high caps mags. It's been asked and answered who knows how many times with tons of solidified info on the topic. Both here and google. But it still and always will be asked and re-answered in hopes of a different result.

The only reason for me to go to Angeles is to shoot at steel targets with aluminum and steel cased ammo.

Heh... I guess they consider that giving you a break. It's happened to me too... as long as you are polite with them, I suppose.

Most LE don't care about CA firearm compliance, esp. when off duty... in a training setting, most care even less... i.e. people engaging their mag releases and such on their featured ARs, etc. As long as you aren't an idiot/douchebag and/or safety hazard.
