Stippling and grip tape are no where near the same.

People stipple or pay to have their guns stippled because it's a dramatic improvement on feel and control.

Easy fix...fashion some grips out of pine and attach with drywall screws. (you would have to trim the screws shorter)

OP's Storm looks a little like snakeskin on backstrap. The "stippling" looks uniform. Probably would affect resale value should OP ever try to sell the Storm....

In the latest issue of handgun mag (or something) they show you how to do stippling. One guy checkered the head of a brass screw and used that to stipple. May want to read on that, but it looks decent!

Not too bad. But I would have definitely bought different tips, and tested it out on (say) a spare AR 15 pistol grip. That might have a different plasticity but at least you coulda got the practice in.
