Thanks all. I dont usually write review about new guns, but this one definitely stood out quite a bit. The biggest surprise was on the internals and parts. It seems like they cut no corner when even when it comes to places that dont even seem to matter much. Really impressed by the level of attention to details. As far as performance goes, im sure itll deliver at that price point!

Shes a beauty but is it really worth a grand more than Baer Stingers? (i honestly dont know, I have never gotten to handle or shoot a Baer Stinger and this is a genuine question)


My opinion has always been that Baers are just as good as Wilsons, Nighthawks and Ed Browns but for about a grand less, and the only differences being cosmetic (on stock models, obviously if you custom order the price for a Baer can easily surpass a Wilson...etc).

Id love a couple Wilsons and the Kobra Carry but not for 3k+. At least not yet

Baers are great gun. Function wise, there probably wont be a noticeable difference between the guns. They are built to different philosophies, but reliability and performance are pretty much expected out of semi custom 1911. Baers tend to be tight, rough and classic. Its a no nonsense gun. But then again, look does count for something. And i think the Kobra Carry comes very smooth on the edges that took some labor time to get done. Probably will make it cost more.

The price difference between them is about $600-800 right now. Kobra Carry is selling less than msrp at $2500 ish for a new one and Stinger is $1700-1900. Its really hard to put a price on whether the money difference is worth it for you. But buying used and pre owned tends to help with the cost.

That is one of the best combo ive seen for stainless/brush chrome guns. Nothing beats the red wood on stainless. Very... Classy i gotta say.

LOL... Probably why their guns arent as popular as the others? WC and NHC probably has the most marketable names for their 1911s hahaha. What I love though, is a simple 1911s that have its features speak for itself. Guncrafter Industries No Name is my favorite so far when it comes to that. Just a simple 1911 with naked slide. I actually really want a Baer Monolith with naked slide, no front cocking serration. Just too late to order one now...

I absolutely love my Kobra Carry. It's fit and finish is second to none. It is smooth and shoots great. I had desired one ever since I first saw a bobtail 1911 and I was able to purchase one this year. Definitely not going to be a safe queen or something I ever plan on selling.

Are those the grips that came with it? I've noticed a lot of variance in kobra carry grips in various pics online, both in color (red or brown) and finish (gloss or flat). Your grips seem darker and less glossy than the pics OP posted.

edit, I see now your pattern is different, so I assume they aren't original.

Potguts you are correct those aren't stock grips. They are VZ Grips ETC in red/black. The sights aren't stock either. They are 10-8 with tritium front sight that I had Ed Brown install.
