Are there any SoCal dealers selling glock 42s through the SSE?

I turn 21 next month and small pistols have always intrigued me and I like the reliability of glock.

If there aren't any is it legal if my friend who is a LEO and owns a glock 42, but decides it's not for him, to Sell it to me and transfer it to me through a FFL?

-- it's 9mm ammo is cheaper than .380
-- fits better in the hand for range shooting
-- holds 10 rounds instead of 6
-- lots of accessories available
-- you can get the Gen3 model without the SSE nonsense, and it still had the dual recoil spring, which is the most important feature of the Gen 4

I switched from a 26 to a 42. The 26 has a smaller barrel and grip and than a full-size model, but as a CCW gun, it was too much for SoCal weather. It's the same width, and feels like almost the same weight, and was just too much to carry in August.

The 42 is slim, small, light, and with a Pearce add-on, fits my hand fine. Shoots any duty ammo fine, and so far is working great.

Judging from prices I have seen shopping online and recently at gun show, I would still say .380 reloads are a little pricier than 9mm, and definitely not as readily available as 9mm. It's still a chore finding .380. Beyond that, there have been numerous and well documented issues with G42 when using reloads or ammo that isn't hot enough to cycle the gun.

Recently shot a G42 and had problems where the gun fails to cycle with reloads from two different sources as well as Blazer ammo (brass and aluminum). Winchester, Partizan, Independence and Fiocchi all fed reliably but that is 4 out of 8 types of ammo tried.

It's still a great little gun but it sucks if you are a cheapo like me and like to buy bulk reloads but you can't because they wont work in your gun. Not trying to dissuade you OP, but if you get the G42 expect to have just a little bit trial and error your ammo. And it will cost a little (marginally) more $$$ to feed it.
