+1 on the loving the paddle release.
I thought I would not like it, but after picking up my VP9, it is very ergonomically comfortable.

I'll add my affection for the paddle release. I found that using my trigger finger to actuate the release felt good and made sense to me. Once I got the ergo down I think the pistol design and layout made me look like a better handler than I am.

It's easier for me to use my thumb instead of my index finger because it can release it easily without changing my grip.

My P99 has longer paddle releases but I handled a VP9 (wait to DROS it now) and even though it is shorter, I has no issues dropping the mag. Much easier to use than button release.

I have not heard of or seen an extended mag release for the VP9....the extended mag release that I've seen fits USP and P2000 variants. The HK45c is supposed to come with the extended mag release and the P30, HK45, & VP9 come with completely redesigned mag releases.

I like the VP9 mag release versus the PPQ release.

I can easily release the mag with either thumb or trigger finger.

You either can do it without much fuss or you need to practice.. there's no 'better' or 'superior' ideology behind a paddle vs button release..

some of the fastest shooters in the world break their grip to release the magazine.. it's not an issue if you learn to use it properly..

It feels really awkward to me.. was planning to use it for hd gun but now im having second thoughts on buying it. How do u guys feel about the paddle style?
It is a little different at first, but pretty easy to adapt to in my opinion. I do like it.

I really like the mag release on HKs because they seem easier for me to drop the mags vs. the normal ones. It was weird at first but easily adapted.

                            Better than my PPQ M1.

I didn't think I would like the paddles but I love it. Only issue is all my social use guns are non paddle =(
