    Vp9 mag release

So I had the chance to shoot this gun finally and its really awesome. . The only thing I dont like is the mag release. . Did u guys get used to it? It feels really awkward to me.. was planning to use it for hd gun but now im having second thoughts on buying it. How do u guys feel about the paddle style?

        Do not use your thumb.
Use your index finger to actuate the magazine release.

This. It allows you to release the mag without changing your grip.

I love the paddle release. Use my index finger to release the magazine. I'm used to it from the PPQ M1 and my other HKs.

I did not think I would but I like the paddle release... I use my trigger finger and do not have to break my strong hand weld on the weapon...brilliant!

HKs paddle mag release does take time to get used to... With that being said, I really like it and I use the middle finger of my shooting hand to drop mags.. I do this much faster than I do regular mag releases

A surprising amount of people make this mistake, though I suppose if it works for you, it works for you. The paddle system is designed to use your trigger finger to sweep back; it's a much faster motion that usually allows for your strong hand grip to remain constant while you reload.

It's similar to the AR vs AK mag release thing...Just a matter of training. Probably wouldn't choose a SSE pistol as my primary SD/HD gun as I like my tate unprobed...but, to each his own...

Yes I love it . I use my trigger finger. Faster than thumb buttons once you get used to it

There's nothing wrong with using a non-rostered gun for self defense.

I have a few HKs and Walthers with the paddle release---like it MUCH better than the button---use trigger finger---fast and natural, don't have to shift grip on pistol.
Why worry about a reloading HD gun? Chances are you won't be reloading anyway---HD situations usually last only a couple of rounds...
