That gets added to any gun though :P For me it's about $100 + ship, then add $10 a magazine (if you don't find one with stock 10 rounders). Lots of places offering SSE for free. But it's true the VP9 might add an extra $75 or so since you likely won't find one in stock locally.

If OP wants something similar and a little cheaper look into a Walther PPQ. They have amazing triggers.

VP9 is easily one of the top 3 striker fire hand gun in the market today. I do not like the paddle release, but that is my issue.

Not like he picked per say bad first handgun. If he went desert eagle in the 50 variety, R51, or AR pistol as the first...I might nudge elsewhere.

He's done his looking, his heart is set, if he does not get it, he will always have hind sight. Especially this last 3 month with SSE going.

Oh, also get out of your 1911 shell, consider PPQ for yourself .

What's your specific question about the VP9? It's a good pistol, not on the roster though, so has to be SSE'd. That option goes away 1/1/15.

He found one for $760 SSE'D, OTD. I told him for that price and if it gets him excited to just buy it! THREAD CLOSED!

Good deal considering the typical Ca. vig attached to most firearms sales here, especially hot items like the VP9. Congrats, he'll enjoy it.

congrats to him. luckily, if he doesn't like it, it won't be hard to recover enough of the value to pay for a $~500 firearm at OTD price.

                  I've shot both the VP9 and P07.

The VP9 trigger is pretty nice, although not as nice as everyone makes it sound. (the PPQ is!) But I digress.

The P07 is an awesome gun, and has a much better price point. Personally, the single action trigger of the P07 and the striker fire pull of the VP9 are very similar. I even prefer the reset on the P07 as it is so pronounced and felt.
