$793 on a Springfield loaded stainless unless someone can give me a compelling reason to buy a different 1911. I have a 2k in my gun fund, but want to grab up a PTR 91 classic too.

Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.Tags: None -
I have previously owned a Norinco 1911 clone and a Springfield mil spec. A friend got a loaded target for a gift and I was baffled by the performance for the money. It is my reason for this purchase. Plus the current sale with the 5 mags is a pretty sweet deal.Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.Comment

That's a good price
Get it before the end of the month so you can get the 3 free mags deal from SA.
Already received the mags and don't even have the gun yet.NRA Life Member

I'd get something similar in price that's not around everywhere. Like an sti or something like that.Originally posted by Jimi JahI punch paper only because it is illegal to punch people.Originally posted by elpaisa1I think flatulence is a more serious crime. Knowing what I know now I can tell you what I would do in hindsight. But this is based on my circumstances, not yours. Regardless, here it goes: Buy the PTR-91 next year. And get a Dan Wesson Valor. Buy once cry once. And no, I'm not telling you to buy a gun for the name or suggesting to pay for without getting anything tangible. The DW, for what it is, is the best bang for the buck out there. Great price on that stainless loaded. I can not think of any other quality 1911 in stainless that can be found for under $800. Check the serial #, it is even a better deal if it is an "NMxxx" number. I have seen and shot several and the "NM"s tend to have better finishing. Springfields are great 1911s for the price, they come with the lifetime warranty and best customer service you have experienced.

Personally I would get a Dan Wesson Valor, a Springfield TRP, or an STI. Get something that isn't on roster and won't be available next year. Both the loaded and the PTR will still be around next year...I'm a big old, bourbon-soaked cigar-huffing ***, as God in his infinite wisdom meant me to be. - Charlie Sheen.Comment
