Ok so why all the love for the LEM trigger?
what's so special about it compared to the DA/SA?

not for a CCW, just want a HK, but not enough funds to drop on a P30 with SSE

my CCW is going to be a g26 so I'm set in that dept

Another P2000sk owner here, in LEM. Bigger than the Glock 26 I used to own, but I enjoy shooting it more than the 26. Hammer gives me a piece of mind when holstering. YMMV.

LEM to me has a seamless break and the reset is short enough that each shot feels the same from the first to the last. No de-cocker to remember.
A stock DA trigger pull on the HK is rough and builds til it breaks... Then you have to transition to the shorter single action...While not a problem its two very different trigger pulls... "training" takes care of it..
I prefer the same trigger pull with each shot... I think that is why guns like GLocks and 1911s are easy to shoot well regardless of how the trigger feels it's always the same. I applaud you on choosing the G26 Perfect choice hides easy shoots well! I have one also.. and ready when I can update my Permit... You might try out an LEM they make two versions one is lighter pull than the other... Most either hate the LEM or Love it... Kinda like a DAK trigger with Sigs...
        Best...

LEM provides a consistent trigger pull from shot to shot. It has a very light double action take up until you reach resistance where the trigger breaks.

Accuracy is the same. I can't tell the difference to be honest. The USP Compact I have set up to LEM feels smoother trigger wise but the ergonomics suck compared to the P2000.

The USP compact is my favorite amongst my staple of HK.

It is blocky but it feels good in my hand. I don't mind the aggressive stippling front and back of the grip. The reset travel from the USPc is a bit shorter than the P2000. The light rail from the USP is propriety and the P2000 is the a standard.

Objectively, the P2000 has better features. Interchangeable backstraps, slimmer slide (not blocky), and standard light rail.

                  Thoughts on HK P2000?

I really love my P2000SK 9mm. It's my carry gun as well. I also have a P30 and I love that gun too. I say go for it.

I love it, will be the CCW gun for "colder" days with more clothing. When I take long trips it goes with me.

Same model, same problem. Been carrying mine for seven years now. I love the ergonomics, only thing that irks me is the extended/ambi slide stops.

Have you tried one of the slim slide stop levers?

Well, I've had the three HKs mentioned here (P2000, P2000sk and USPc-all 9mm)---still do---like all HKs, they are borely reliable---they never fail to function---you gotta like that!
My P2000 and USPc are both DA/SA---the P2000sk is "light" LEM---a really different trigger, but I like it. I hear horrible things about HK DA/SA triggers---too much take-up, long reset, etc. I must say the triggers on my personal pistols are just fine with me---the DA is the CARRY mode---it's supposed to be heavy for safety---the SA is fine with a bit of take-up which doesn't bother me as I'm not a trigger snob---the USPc is pretty much the same, with a shorter take-up. The P2000sk and it's light LEM trigger is a totally different animal trigger wise, but still very accurate---in fact, all three shoot VERY well.
If I had to choose just one, I'd probably pick the P2000---a reasonably compact pistol that thinks and shoots like a full-size pistol. The only negative about the USPc is it's somewhat blocky, not as sleek as the P2000.
In truth, any of the three would be just fine… Just my .02 cents...

Oh, and if you shoot with the silly "thumbs forward" grip, you can expect to contact and maybe activate the slide stop on the P2000 or P2000sk---use a proper thumbs locked down grip for more consistent control of your pistol.
Humans were designed with opposing thumbs to lock objects (and guns) into their hand...

Oh, and don't try shooting a real hand cannon (454 Casull or bigger) with the thumbs forward grip---you've been warned...

How exactly is the thumbs forward grip "silly"? It's a quite effective method of mitigating recoil. I've never had a problem with shooting that way activating the slide lock lever.
