after much thinking i think i need to add a 10mm in my line up for my last SSE. my top 2 choices would be either a Dan Wesson Razorback RZ-10 or a Colt Delta Elite but realistically theyre gonna be very difficult to source. honestly if im gonna stick with the 1911 platform its most likely going to be the Kimber Custom Eclipse II. i also have my eye on a Tanfoglio Witness Stock II and may consider the G20SF but im really looking for full metal frame. anybody familiar with any of the above models care to chime in? lastly are there any other 10mm that im forgetting?

10mm For Final SSE

Razorback RZ-10 will run in the 1500-1900 range...if you can find it. I almost pulled the trigger on one...but I instead, got two pistols for the price of one
see below.
Colt Delta will be in the 1300-1800 range from what I see and is a little easier to find.
If $$$ is not an issue, go Nighthawk or Wilson or something like that. GunBroker has plenty of those there. You'll then have your safe queen.
For the "now" gun, you could just get a Glock 20 Gen 4...even the Gen 3 or even go Kimber.
Guess which route I went?
Awesome cartridge, you can run like 10mm which is basically a 40 with expensive brass, or full power 10mm, which hits harder than a 357 mag typically. The glock 20SF also has the ability to run 40S&W, 357Sig, 9x25 Dillon, and 9mm.

I have a tanfo witness elite match and i must say its pretty sweet. Its sao and has a very similar manual of arms as a 1911. The higher up witnesses are semi custom. Also the slides can be swapped and run several different calibers on the same frame.Just a libertarian guy in a Leftist Authoritarian state.

I vote for a Tanfoglio, it's the only one that does not have a roster 10mm cousin.
Consider the cheaper priced Elite model as well, does not sound it is lagging in performance.
Delta's are horrible value, because of the price and you get: basic sights, no beaver tail, and the deal breaker un-ramped and non fully supported barrel.
Kimber 10mm is on roster, so it should be available next year.
Dan Wesson, well if you must have one of the nicer 10mm or 1911's in general, I am all for it.
Glock 20SF/29SF, Gen4 does have a nice texture, but you can grip tape the Gen3.
Rock Island and Para also has 1911's in 10mm.Comment

totally forgot the Kimber is still on roster, so it will definitely have to take a back seat. you guys do make valid points against the Delta, it is pricy for what you get and i am a bit concerned about the non fully supported chamber design. plus if im going to PPT one i wouldnt need to SSE. it looks like im going to narrow it down to the Dan Wesson for the 1911 field.Comment

Get the DW.
DE’s are not that hard to source, but the lack of a supported chamber means you’ll be skimping on what the 10mm can really do.
imo, the Glock 20/29 are amazing pistols - but given your choices, get the DW

I was in the same boat, originally I wanted a Delta Elite after removing all the hyperbole as I wanted to utilize hot rounds, I found that the Glock was stronger and held much more rounds, I ended going with a Gen 4 Glock 20. I've added a Lone Wolf compensated barrel and I couldn't be happier.
