    CA vs. Non-CA Shield

Have any of you who've purchase a CA compliant Shield regretted it? I spoke with a friend who owns both, and says that he shoots them equally.
I'm about to bite the bullet, but don't know if I should save the $100 and stick with the CA compliant, or just spend the cash on a non-roster Shield.
The LCI does bother me, but I can live with it...not too sure about the safety though.

There are several other theads on this. How 'bout joining this one instead of starting another urinary olympiad.

OC/LA area. That's a great deal, if he's local I'll have to pick one up.

I just purchased a non-CA Shield and I paid the same as if it was the CA model.

Never say never If the disconnect can be easily removed, will you pass up a good deal?

Read here about the OP's woes. Same boat as your's.

Buy once, cry once...it's worth SSE'ing the non Cali version if you have any doubts at all about the LCI and mag disco.

If ANYTHING you are thinking of buying doesn't appeal to you 100%, it's not worth buying, no matter what the savings. Great house, crappy neighborhood.....a car with great MPG, but crappy styling and design.....guns are no different.

There are pictures here on CG regarding the LCI and the mag disconnect. The LCI reminded me of those "Remove Before Flight" tags on planes.

Here is another site with pics.

                      The LCI is not biggie.

Disabling the magazine safety is easy and cheap.

The $100 more you would spend a non-CA version you can spend on an Apex Duty/Carry trigger kit and you will have a great carry gun.

Thanks everyone. I actually just found a LGS that sells the non-roster for the same price as the CA compliant. I've got 22 more days on my 1 a month, so can I just purchase the Shield and DROS it after 22 days?

You should be able to do that. I just did that with an LCP. I bought it when I bought my shield and just DROS'd it when my 30 were up.

                            I own a CA version.

LCI - I can live with it. I blacked out the lettering and scraped all the red paint off.
Manual Safety - I can practice around it
Mag Disconnect - I really HATE that.

My SD made the decision easy for me as no SSE guns on CCW so Cali version it is.
