    lube for p07

Being that 95% of the frame to slide contact is metal on plastic, is there a preferred lube/grease for this. Only two little tabs by the hammer are steel on steel.

I barely lube glocks but maybe this should be different?

Lube it per the instruction manual.
    With your preferred lube.

              Lubricant good.
Type of lubricant is not important.
My firearms are lubed with Castrol Synthetic motor oil.
Have ran over 100,000 rounds with no issues.

Seriously, many different "lubes" and their advertisements are all hype. Get ANY quality gun oil you see on the shelf and you'll be set. With metal on plastic, you could literally use a dab of butter and it will work just fine! I did that once on a desert trip and with 1000 rounds of Winchester white box and a 92FS. I forgot my cleaning kit which contained real "gun oil. Not one hiccup!

Another time in my (dumb) youth, my buddy and I forgot our oil for our then "new" AR-15's. We were in the middle of the desert and had no gun oil. So, I went to the truck and pulled out the dipstick. My 10w-30 of Mobil-1 and drops off the dipstick a few times lubed up those new bolts, bolt carriers and such. It was a last resort, but it worked beautifully.

Personally, I've stuck with CLP as a lube and NOT a cleaner (as claimed by the manufacturer). I've never found a "lube" to work as good as a real solvent for strictly "gun cleaning" purposes.

But.... What I like about the old-school CLP is, it does seem to CLEAN UP much better when using a solvent on the gun, after a day at the range or hunting. The carbon seems to come off easier and with LESS scrubbing when I use solvent based cleaner over the now dirty CLP lube.

This has been particularly evident with me when I've shot thousands upon thousands of old Chinese or Russian 7.62x39 ammo through my AK's and SKS's. The carbon comes off so much easier when CLP was used as a lube, instead of a traditional lube "only" cleaner.

As an emergency "field" stripping and cleaning, the CLP will work if that's all you have on hand however. It just takes longer to wipe off all that CLP infused carbon crud, after shooting all day.

Also, CLP does however have a tendency to evaporate within weeks while in storage on the gun itself. so when I pull out a clean gun from the safe, I always add a few fresh drops of the stuff, prior to hitting the range.

                Works fer me.

I noticed this too and also that even though it will run thousands of rounds, it looks pretty broken down after a good amount of use. That makes me feel like I need to clean more often. Not a big deal, but I sort of set it aside and don't use it now. Switched to Jardine's Extreme. Haven't had any problems getting carbon off with #9.

this is not rocket science. any cheap lubricant at your local gunstore will do.
