Same here. Mine was marked up good before I even shot it.

Mine doesn't look like that. I put a little bit of grease on that part of the gun though. I do that for all my pistols, grease the barrel a bit.

I haven't had a chance to shoot mine yet but the barrel does show use. Already liberally oiled it for the range.

I use grease, I find that oil dries up too fast.

I took I straight home and cleaned it, lubing it to factory recommended standards.

Mine looked like that as well. It was ordered brand new from my FFL.

I made my buddy stop today and I looked at her new 4.0 XDS and it was 10x times worse then yours. " never fired" Looked like someone kicked it across the room and down the stairs. I have it seating in CLP right now. I also have barrels seat for 24 hours after the range.
