    Xds slide stop problem

Just got my new xds today and I'm having a problem with the slide stop. The small square part of the stop that fits snug into the notch of the slide simply doesn't want to keep the slide locked. Just the corner will catch on the notch and then the slide slams right back into battery. If I shimmy the slide stop, once in a while it will fully catch and stay put, but otherwise it won't.

Anyone have that problem? Also, has anyone found a good extended slide stop for a replacement? I have aftermarket ones on my glocks and they work great.

    Thanks.

try tacking the slide a couple hundred times, all the way back and forth.

Mine definitely does not do that. In fact when new the slide stop was really stiff and very hard to push down. Weak spring maybe. Yes call springfield

I've racked it a bunch of times. I took I straight home and cleaned it, lubing it to factory recommended standards.

Just did a 100 rnds. Gun was flawless except for one failure to return to battery. The slide stop problem seems to have fixed itself. I'm surprised at how worn the gun looks, like on the barrel. It has more wear on it after 100 rnds than my glocks do after 3k rnds

Never seen that before...I have 5 XDS and none of mine look like that. **** my brother has the 3.3 and 4.0 both in 9mm and 45acp in both colors (total of 8 XDS) and they don't look like that. Ask your FFL about it.

Same here. Mine was marked up good before I even shot it.

After a couple Google searches it appears to be a normal thing.
