    AR15 pistol in other calibers?

I keep going back and forth whether to build an AR pistol or not.

Anyone build on in a caliber other than .223/ 5.56?

You should definitely build one imo. They are fun and extremely functional. The only other caliber I would consider is 300blk but the ammo is just too expensive for me. 556 is cheap, effective, and extremely reliable out of a DI 11.5" and can also be good out of a properly tuned 10.5". 300blk can achieve the same out of even shorter barrels. It definitely has it's advantages

I recently got a free 80% billet receiver.
So, I'm looking into building an AR pistol in .300Blackout.
Other caliber I considered was .458Socom.

I thought about the 12" upper. However, special mags and expensive ammo changed my mind.

I only have one and it's in 300blk.
I wanted one that's ballistically more useful than just punching paper.
It also started me into reloading.

I will be doing a 9MM AR pistol that uses Glock magazines.

+1 on fun and fireballs. You should build one out even if others say its6 impractical. It really isn't as it would function just fine without a stock. I have s 556 snd x39. I love pistols that are able to fire rifle rounds. My pap92, ar 7.62x39 are my favorite range guns.

since I already have a 7.62x39, my lower will probably become a regular 5.56 pistol, and then I'll be able to put .22 in it.

If I didn't have the x39 upper on my rifle, I'd definitely put it in a pistol.
My AR is 7.62x39, so that if/when we get invaded, I can shoot their ammo back at them!

I really like my 6.8 spc 11 in barrel. I have a cousin with the same build (but as a sbr out of state) and he regularly uses it for deer and hog. 6.8spc is designed for short barrels. My second choice would be .300 Blackout, but it just doesn't have the terminal balistics I desire (for hunting).

If you will actually be shooting living creatures at 100 yard+ ranges, I think 6.8spc is the only way to go on an ar15 pistol. Under 100 yards (or suppressed) .300 would also function. Or get the Bison Armory 6.8 spc subsonic barrel like mine and you can use both supersonic and subsonic loads. If I had the cash, I'd be building an 8 in 6.8 spc pistol right now.

If its just a range toy, get whichever caliber you can find and/or afford ammo for and have fun using it.

5.56 can only go through paper?
                        What about construction paper?

I'm almost finished with my x39 build, was pretty simple to source everything from kak. Also made the most sense ballisticallly from an <11" barrel and with ammo I wouldn't be chasing brass after every shot.

Do they sell 80% lowers that accept glock 9mm mags? Or do you just use a 556 lower with a 9mm upper? Edumacate me!

                              Thanks!
