Did you know that Wilson Combat shoots up to 100-200 rounds through your brand new gun before it leaves the factory? The test target represents a very small amount of live fire that the pistol goes through before the company is satisfied that the weapon is ready to be cleaned, lubed, and sold. If you sent Wilson a gun for service, it gets fired again to make sure the gun is perfect.

I have owned and shot everything from cheap $500 1911's up to Baers, TRP's, Springfield Custom Shop 1911's, Browns, Wilsons, Nighthawks, various Colts, various custom 1911's, etc. If you buy a Brown or a Wilson, you are getting one of the most accurate, reliable, and well built 1911's money can buy. Don't sweat a piece of paper that comes with the gun.
    Good to know. Thanks.

Sorry to bump somewhat of an old thread, but are those test targets shot by hand? I always thought they were shot through some sort of jig holding the barrel in place.

Skip to to the 0:10 mark to see what I'm talking about.

No, that is a jig only to shoot their ammo, testing for velocity variation and accuracy.

Those test targets will be an entire firearm, I say likely in a ransom rest or similar.

The group is what matters . Sight adjustment will get the group centered to your point of aim. Wilson and Ed Brown are quality.
California's politicians and unionized government employees are a crime gang that makes the Mexican drug cartels look like a Girl Scout Troop in comparison.

I see what you are saying but the bullet is already at the target before any recoil occurs.

That's some funny stuff right there.

              No.

              Offhand.

              15 yards.

Testing for windage and elevation in a real shooter's hands.

Accuracy is tested from a Ransom Rest at 50 yards. This is NOT done on the test target included with the firearm.
