The FFL can sell you the pistol minus the magazines or block them to 10 rounds. If they are unwilling to do either, find another FFL.

^^^if you really want to get to splitting hairs you will see an important difference between a Garand (or Mannlicher) clip and the curved (or straight) holder of cartridges in the above pic(s)-

the true "clip" becomes a functional necessity in the magazine that uses it. in other words, the Garand (or Mannlicher) system will not function without the clip. much like the word for which it is commonly substituted, magazine.

the curved item in the above pic is not necessary in the function of the weapon. it's use is merely to assist in speedy reloading of the magazine. it is properly called a "stripper"- or "stripper clip".

so, while I am all for proper diction, those who would correct someone for using "clip" instead of "magazine" need to understand the proverb about glass towers.

I believe applying the proper nomenclature is widely considered more important these days since the gun grabbers love to misuse both terms in a predictable display of their knowing nothing about guns...
