s&w model 66 no dash

Are you sure that there isn't a number in front of the K? Model 66's weren't produced until 1970 and by that time S&W serial numbers started at K946392-K999999, 1K1-1K3950, 2K1-2K222037. A 66 with a blackened rear sight would probably have a serial number starting with at least a 1 or more probably 2K+.

A stainless looking K frame serial number K751xxx would make it a nickel plated model 19-2 produced in 1967.

Mine is a 1976 with Stainless sights, Box, etc. 7K1xxxx. Great Wheel Gun! I would not let this go (along with my 1984 686 No -). Values heading towards $1k for these 66 No - Pre-Lok examples.

Ive seen 66s sit around in the for sale section for $600-700 for awhile.
There are a couple in the for sale section of the SW forum right now.

according the the SCSW, 7K1xxxx places yours as having been made in 1974. Mine is a '76 and the serial number starts with 9K

I just looked in the SCSW and could not find the 1974 info you replied with? I did call S&W Cust Serv and they dated my 66 mfg @ 1976. When I purchased from the OG owner he stated 1976 as well. Dating the older S&W's are challenging for sure. Appreciate any additional info that would re-confirm my dating.

As far as valuation; anything on GB or elsewhere at whatever price doesn't mean anything as I'm not a seller. IMHO values in CA of off-roster anything that can be acquired via PPT has additional value here cause you can actually buy it if you chose to pay the price of admission.

Love the 4" 19. Have a 19, 19 nickel and a 66, the 6 is in rough shape though bought it sight unseen and well, not as nice as I had hoped. May need to replace it so I can have the trio all in comparable good condition.

I personally love the K frame and have like 8 model 19s. If anyone is interested there is a six inch barrel 66 for sale at Bullseye sport in Riverside. I want to say it was a das 2 and was going for 700. I didnt look at it because I would of probably ended up buying it.
