Here's a pic of my SA stainless loaded, thing is a real shooter! I put in a stainless Wilson GI guide rod and cap and ditched the 2 piece. I have since also changed grips with a set of pachmyer's.

I've shot quite a few SA 1911s and find them to be wonderful guns. They are great platforms and work well out of the box.
Personally though, I'm still partial to my Colt Delta Elite 10mm. I's from 1989 and still looks brand new.

Like what the others said. I was issued a 1911A1 in the Marines and it was stock. So when I was a civilian lawman I just had to add all the "bells and whistles". Now my EDC is a Rock Island GI FS with Hogue palm swell grips and is 100% reliable with JHPs. Night sights is a good addition too.

I am considering the stainless version but it seems SA didn't equip it with night sights... anyone compare with the ss Ruger SR 1911? It is 200 cheaper than the ss Loaded, no mag promotion but 1911 mags aren't that overpriced.

Also did anyone try the grips with magwell from the SA store? Wonder how that setup compares to the TRP's bevelled magwell. TIA!

Congrats OP! I recently purchased a SA 1911 Loaded MC. I use my guns and dont baby them. It has held up great! After reading about 1911's this was in my price range and had great reviews. A DW or Nighthawk 1911 were far to expensive for me. Springfield has great customer service as well.

LOL! I did a PPT with the OP and he convinced me to purchase the same 1911! I was having some buyers remorse until I started reading all the great reviews, now I can't wait to receive it.

The sales clerk who was very helpful steered me towards the SA 1911 Loaded (Parkerized). He also mentioned that right now with the purchase of a new SA pistol you can get an extra three mags from SA and all this for about $250-$300 less than the Colt I was eyeballing and it even came with night sights.

Long story short, I decided to purchase it. Since then I have made a purchase on Midway for some Nighthawk G10 Alien grips, Kimber MSH w/ extended magwell, Wilson Combat one piece guide rod, Wilson Combat shokbuff and 3 Wilson Combat magazines because I remember them being the best mags when I had my Kimber.

Parkerized SA Loaded was my first 1911 and it's still one of my favorites - shoots great and "eats" everything (FMJ and JHP). I too installed a Wilson one piece FLGR. I also bought some Wilson buffers but I never felt the need to install them in either my Loaded or any other of my 1911s (OT: I'm considering installing one in my Ruger Mini-14 to see if it reduces the distance its brass gets thrown.). As for mags, I run 1 factory Kimber, 13 factory SA and 4 factory replacement ProMag (all are 7 rd) interchangeably between my SA Loaded and Kimber TLE with absolutely no issues. YMMV.
