Slide locking last shot.

So I just checked the slide stop tab and it's copper free. So that rules out the bullet rubbing against it theory.

i had that happen to my sig 226 with after market mags i think the followers were wrong i took a little snap blade knife and took off about 1/8 and they worked but i sold them at a gunshow

and stick with factory mags

I'm going to guess this is the issue. The thing is all my magazines are factory mags. Could this happen from old age, wear and tear?

from wear it causes it to not lock back brand new mags with little burs may or if the tops of the follower get worn

mec gar mags have really stong springs

test each your mags by putting one cartridge in the mag insert it in the well and then pull the slide back and see if it locks back on any particular one

Try loading the magazines for a week and take it back out. Sounds like the magazine spring might be too strong. I had this problem with my 220 and that fixed it.

When I had my brand new mags the same thing happened to me. I just kept using them and it stopped. It took like a 100 rounds each mag. I also would go home load the mag and then empty the mag and reload it. I did this while watching TV, my thumb hurt when I was done. Good luck I really love my P228, I let my buddy use it for the police academy and he loves it to.

Strange things have been happening to me lately as well. The last two times I went to the range, my gun fired when I pulled the trigger. It was the strangest thing. I didn't take note on whether this was the magazine or a problem with the gun. I have had it for a while and this has never happened before. What can I do to fix this???

The problem you have is a loose trigger nut. I recommend you see your doctor for annual maintenance.

If you want to rule out the thumb theory, shoot it lefty.

When was the last time you took it apart and gave it a good cleaning? Probably not the problem, but worth checking.

The mags shouldn't be the problem, but it's possible.

You still need to apologize. You think it's locking on the round, not the "shot." A shot means the round has been fired.

+1 for clarify that, I had that problem before and found out that is the round with the bullet loosen out, I intentionly put that round to be the last on next mag, it happened again! when you reload, need to go with OAL for different manufacture bullets.

So the last two times I've been to the range I've noticed that my Sig P228's slide locks on the last shot. I didn't take note on wether it was the magazine or the gun.=T But I think it might be the magazine. I've had the Sig for a while and this has never happened before. What can I do to fix this?

This needs to be proofread...I understand it, but bad grammar is just annoying.
