I actually like the lockout. I have used it a handful of times when the most secure place to store my gun was hiding it in a hotel room. That key has been on my keychain for something like 10 years.

All the problems I've had with my H&K's were from an improper installation of something or just not reading the manual. heheh.

Otherwise, they're extremely reliable. And my favorite is the lack of recalls. If the VP9 ends up not having any, then it really cements the fact that H&K takes the time to get it right the first time.

            Got it.

That little P2000 is a beast. 1000 racks is nothing

By the way, the 10 rd mags can be had for $20 a pop from CDNN.

At least you figured it out. The worst is when they put something really important as a side note in tiny font way off in the middle of nowhere.
While I generally agree, this is nothing new. Safety locks on handguns and some long guns (I.E. 870 Shotgun) have been around for at least 10 years.

Good thing you got it sorted out---I've had a P2000 9mm (DA/SA) for several years now---absolutely one of my favorite pistols---"just right" size (I have several larger and one smaller HKs)---super accurate---totally reliable---whats not to like?

Has functioned flawless on 3 range trips. Very happy to stick it next to my beretta that is soon to retire as my main shooter.
