Had TFOs for my Glock 34. Front fiber optic worked itself out after about 100 rounds of +P+. Got some HDs. Now all my pistols have HDs on them.

Threw said Glock 34 with HDs on it across a parking lot and ran it over (or burn out on it...either way), sights sparked when they hit the concrete. Didnt budge at all. We aren't talking tossing it 3', it was thrown about 20' and skidded another 10'-15'.

      Get HDs.

Meh. I could have had a bad one. But I have never, ever had a bad anything from Trijicon.

            YMMV.

I like the orange better than the yellow. I like the wide U notch rear so you can see either side of the target at distance to ensure good sight alignment. I like the hooked rear to rack off of anything. I like the slightly higher combat sights so that all I do to ensure a hit is put the orange dot on the target 25 yards and under.

I have TFO's on my XDm .45 3.8" and they have been fine. They are much brighter than the regular trijicons on my 1911's (no experience with HD). I'm probably close to 300 rounds since i got them installed. 100 of that being a mix of federal HST +p and winchester ranger +p.

Also, the HDs have photo-luminescent paint, which is charged up by light and glows in dark conditions. Perfect for transitional lighting where you are going from bright indoors to dark outdoors or vice versa.

And the center of the front sight has the tritium insert and makes for a good reference point for a little more precision shooting.

Put 2000+ rounds through a Glock with TruGlo TFO (green front/rear) and recently put 50 rounds through a buddies Glock with Trijicon HD (small rear green/front red). Maybe I am accustomed to TFO's but they are easier to pick up compared to the rear small dots, especially in all lighting conditions. The front sight of my TFO did fall apart and it was covered under warranty with a new sight. Since then no issues.

I have the Ameriglo Hackathorns, plain rear sight and front sight with phospholuminescent paint + tritium. I was going to get the HD's at first, but they were impossible to find and more expensive.

HDs allow me to shoot better than my actual ability with both eyes open. Only sights i will use on my glocks. Best target acquisition than any other sights I've tried.

Fiber optics for range toys and 3-dot tritiums for carry/hd gun.

truglo do suck. they are a complete waste of money for people that shoot their glocks.

i made the mistake of buying them as well due to their price point and visibility when new. mine are about a year old now and dim as hell. i switched to trijicon HD and have been very happy so far.
