Sig Night sights installed?

Anyone know of a place in SoCal I can go to or mail my slide to them to install some night sights?


Edit: I already have the sights, I just need them installed.

If you are gong to mail the slide, why contain yourself to SoCal? You could just as easily send it to any number of places to have it done. If you don't already have the sights, give Trijicon a try, contact info here.

As far as going to places, ask around at your local gun stores to see if they'd do it or can recommend a local gunsmith.

Hey bud,

I always take my sig work to Bane and Davis in San Gabriel. They always do good work. I just got a trigger job from them. Great stuff! It seems like not only is the trigger to a nice 4lb, but they also cleaned up everything. The mags now spit out when ejected and when the slide locks, you gotta push firmly on the slide release. It use to get depressed acidentaly but now i don't think that will happen. Haven't had a test run yet. Either way, it's $45 if you have ur own sites. Hope it helps. You can look them up in google.

clubster on sigforum has nightsights installed for $75 shipped. i got all of mine back within a week of sending.

You can do this yourself. Its not hard to install sights, really.

Do a word search in the forum for the process, I know me and another member went over the process pretty clearly.

Save the dollars, no special Night Sight, or Sight tool is needed.

A lot of gun stores that sell sights have the factory tools to change the sights. They of course will charge you a fee, usually between $15.00-$40.00 is the norm I've seen.

Nah.

I'd rather send it to Sigarms. You can't just press these things into the Sig dovetail. The sights are oversized and need to be fitted (by removing metal from the bottom of the sight body until you can start the sight 25% into the dovetail under finger pressure), otherwise the dovetails will get mangled.

Which is the same thing you'd do to install a dovetailed sight in anyother rifle or pistol...

So, send the slide and sights to any competent smith. Personally, a fine file will allow you to do it yourself. Take a gentle pass or 2 on the sight until it slides maybe 1/3 of the way into the slide with light finger pressure, then use a nylon rod and a small hammer to tap it into place and finish the job.

Trust me, it's not brain surgery.

Especially for those who take their guns to Dave and Baenis or whatever.

Besides, you should not tap on nightsights. You may damage the gas tube.

Excellent and easy way to explain it Hanko.
Take your time, and file a little and test it. File some more if need be.

The nylon rod you use to seat it is the key. Only tap on the base itself, and not on the sight.

Generally they seat in from the right side as you look from the rear of the pistol.

I'm pretty comfortable wielding a 3 lb hammer and a torch to get things loose on cars, but smacking night sights with a hammer? I'm a coward.
