Looks like OEM to me. Have a set just like them on my 586-1. Judging from the OP's pic, I'd say that is the original Blue box that it was sold in along with the original manual and cleaning kit. Can't see it in the pic but did it come with an actual screwdriver or the flat piece of metal inside that plastic bag? Bet it even has the serial number and all the options that it came with printed on a white label on the side. Too bad it's missing the oil paper used to wrap the pistol up in. Looks like quite the package. Good purchase.

Had a 681. Sent it in for recall. Then round-butted it. Shot the piss out of it. Very accurate. Too bad I let it go...

This was the L-frame version of the S&W Model 13 K-frame revolver. I bought my Model 13 in 1970 something for $140.00. Still have it. Fixed sights were just fine if I did my part.

Your L frame version is just as nice. Good, rugged gun that'll last forever.

Good for you. That guns from the 80's so if kept on good shape will bring in alot more than if you didn't have all the goodies. If you decide to sell, that is.

BTW, the L frame was designed to address the issue of shooting a steady diet of full 357 loads thru the K frame. It'll hold up well with full house 357 or 38's. It'll be a tack driver with either load. Enjoy.
