^^ CZ P-01 if you need the rail, PCR if not. Both are G19-sized compacts with forged alloy frames and decockers...
Doubt you will CCW a steel-framed CZ... unless you're a weight lifter, of course.

Love the PCR and P01. If I could only have one gun, it would probably come down to one of those (or a G19 if I was boring)...

I was in the same boat as you. I wanted a new 9mm for HD and as a range toy. I also wanted something Polymer and that I didn't really worry about banging around a bit. I ended up going with a 5" Walther PPQ. I've heard nothing but fantastic reviews on them, plus its about the same amount of $$ as a SSE Gen 4 Glock.

I'm a 1911 when it comes to Semi Autos and wheel gun guy for the most part. I usually cant stand striker fired triggers. I know they can be made better with small modifications, but its still not a 1911 trigger. All the Glock triggers I've tried just felt meh. Nothing terrible, but nothing great either.

I basically chose the PPQ for the looks, trigger and Ergo's. The PPQ trigger is supposed to be around 5lbs. Thats almost what my SA TRP is! I also like to go with things that are different. As cheesy as it may sound when you go to the range its usually full of Glock's, XD's and M&P's, I've yet to see a PPQ. Although they are still pretty new and Walther doesn't have a huge following so I'm sure well see how much they catch on in the future. From what I hear Walther makes a great product and the PPQ is deff a winner.

I would go for the Sphinx SDP Compact. OC Armory has it for $950 but that $950 gets you a factory 3.3 lb trigger and Swiss workmanship. Compare to something like the HK P30 which is similar in price but that out of box trigger is just terrible.

I know the Hi-Power is a commonly recommended 9mm but you'll need to remove the magazine disconnect to get a OK trigger. The Sphinx will get you a competition grade trigger out of the box.

I love CZ's

But i own a HK P2000 / 40 S&W and have nothing bad to say about it. It is a great pistol, and in my novice opinion it has a good trigger out of the box.

The only thing i have changed on it is swamping out the mag floor plates to flat ones from the USP.

It also a breeze to clean.

Glock has the reliability, cost and is a platform that is easily modded. Parts are available easily and readily. It is the logical choice.

For CCW, I'd take a Walther PPS.

For HD/Range, I'd take the PPQ 5". Shoots like a dream.

I've shot a large number of the poly framed handguns, and PPQ wins in my book, on accuracy, reliability, and ergonomics.

My second choice would be the P07, and third the XDm.
