    G34, M&P CORE, Sig ???

Been looking at getting a g34 or an M&P CORE 9mm, basically a full sized 9mm that I could potentially end up entering an IDPA match with some time in the future. What does Sig have in the same ballpark as the g34 and the M&P CORE?

    Thanks!

everyone should have a 34 in their collection, that said, my next choice would be the core. the x5 is a fine choice but for the cost of that and mags, you could buy both the glock and the m&p.

the g34 is something I will eventually pick up. I wouldn't mind a gen 3, so there is no rush to buy that.

That p226 x5 isn't really in the same ballpark as the CORE and the 34.

I own the M&P Pro, but have shot the CORE and the G34. I really enjoy the Pro, but was equally impressed the the G34.

I did not care for the higher sights on the CORE, so unless you are going to put an RMR on it, you might want to look closely at that. If you do put an RMR on it, you can't shoot in the Production Divisions, so it depends why you are buying.

I think you can't go wrong with any them. To me, the M&P Pro and G34 are roughly equal with each having a small advantage over the other.

As this USPSA Nationals Equipment Survey indicates..... Not much.
Subsequent surveys since 2011 indicate that the Top 3 are now neck & neck.

Glock got into the sponsorship end of IDPA earlty on and established a solid base. Great chart of information. Im wondering about caliber, but based on bullet weight it looks like maybe light .40 S$W and a LOT of 9mm with 61% downloading the rounds.

That would be the new fullsize 320

                            I don't think I'd consider the p320 a target/competition gun

I only have experience with the G34, but I can say it is easy to learn to fine tune yourself, and parts are cheap.
