Thinking about a .45 in a non-1911 format. What do people think about these different platforms? I'm not really one for upgrading, modding, etc. I'm used to the Sig platform and do well with it, but something is drawing me to the CZ and USP especially. The prices of magazines do seem to be a major drawback, however. Before I go rent them, is there anything I should look out for?

CZ97B, all steel full dust cover frame, has lower muzzle flip, 10rd capacity, and great ergos. Mecgar 10rd mags for the 97B are reasonably priced @ $24.99 with a better anti friction coating and they make the oem CZ mags. My P220 is on the chopping block.Last edited by CAGLS; 07-28-2014, 3:48 AM.Comment

Have you try USP 45 Expert? Factory tuned trigger, longer slide/barrel(o-ring). Really nice gun and very accurate.Need Light for your Gun Safe: MaxMySafe Lite Tech LED Gun Safe Light System

Hey op i have not owned a sig so i can not comment on that. I do own a cz 97b and have owned a usp 45. They are both great guns hands down.
The usp was a very soft shooting .45 and fits the hand well for me at least. It was extremely accurate for me and ran great. The only draw back for me was how expensive parts were and how expensive mags were. I think they were like 30 bucks. The big plus for me was it was ambi controls.
The 97b is full on metal. Mine is a 2001 so i have the barrel that doesnt like to feed hollow points to well. The thing i didnt know before i bought mine was that there isnt a lot of aftermarket parts for the 97b. Like there is for the 75 and other more popular models, it some how became the red headed step child. Other than that felt recoil is very minimum. Its accurate and heavy. I love mine, i truley think you cant get a better .45.
One thing i will say about it is a lot of people mod the cz's which is completely fine but i do not think they need to be moded. Now i am not saying dont, i am just saying it isnt a must inless you want to.Comment

+1. Was petty much going to say the same. CZ97B is very accurate, soaks recoil much better due to all steel, but crappy trigger that will smooth out in time. It also has a super long DA pull but doesn't matter if you're just planning to shoot paper. HK USP 45 is also accurate and great quality but expensive parts. I would recommend this for a home defense pistol over the CZ. As a shooter, I recommend the CZ for a softer recoil but either one is a great paper shooter.Hey op i have not owned a sig so i can not comment on that. I do own a cz 97b and have owned a usp 45.
