I never shot one but from what I read, they are pretty reliable. If it was me though I'd buy something a little better. You can get a S&W SD9 VE for around $300. I bought my girlfriend one and its an amazing gun for the price. Shoots great. Trigger is a little heavy but with a $20 upgrade from APEX it'll lighten it up quite a bit.

My nephew has one an likes it. I am a gun snob. I like guns that run. If it runs buy it.

Something is better then nothing - just make sure whatever you end up with you practice and become familar with it.

I have a Sigma I bought in '99 for an inexpensive SD gun. I bought a HP a few years ago but, since I have other options, I never thought of having to rely on it.

I sometimes like to antagonize on Hi-Points, but in all honestly, it's 100% American made, and for the money it's probably the best deal as far as guns go - going. There have been anomalies, and there have been bad reviews; but percentage wise, I've seen a larger number of good reviews and good things about the gun that outweigh the bad reports.

Also, the company stands by their guns. They will make a wrong right, and from what I've seen in person, these are not as bad as many people like to depict.

If I was broke, if I were hard-up, but I was still a law-abiding citizen that needed a gun; I would buy one. The only reason I don't buy one is that I don't need one, but if there were a need and it fit my price-point, from what I've seen I would by one - maybe two.

This is calguns. Nobody on here owns a hi point.

                              Or will admit to it

I've heard they shoot better when held at a 90 degree angle. Or is this just Internet folklore???

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.
