Id send it to sig. If it was really pricey though I would stick it in a vise if there is enough room to grab on and flatten it back out. Use tape or something to prevent scratches.

I'd send it back to SiG. Doesn't seem like it got a proper heat treat if thats all it took to bend it...

Yup.. and since pistol components like slides are batch processed through heat treatment... yours is likely not the only one. Send it back to SiG.. let them know they have a problem. They will most likely replace your slide with a new one.

Woah! Has it worn the frame?

I agree send it to Sig, and don't feel too bad about launching the slide like that, been there done that. Didn't damage the slide, but the $600 custom cut glass picture window didn't fare so well

Slides on automatics are not made out of sheet-metal for a reason. If the manufacturers could, they would. Slides have to be made of properly hardened or thickness steels or they will fail under the kinds of stresses a slide endures.

The reason the Hi-point has such a heavy and large slide is because of the inexpensive and inferior metal it is made out of. It isn't like hi-point said.. lets make a 2# slide that is ugly, large and thick because.. yeah.. we want ugly.

Pour some Robitussin on it. Call Sig, see what they say. I had good experience with their CS. Make sure to be polite, even if they say they need to charge you. Nothing makes a CS call go south faster than a bad attitude.

Doh! My bad, I completely missed the part about it sliding off the gun! I thought it came like that from the factory my bad.

Do you know what caused it to fly off? I'm guessing the take down lever wasn't rotated back?

Sent you a PM with contact info for the best Customer Service reps at SiG IMHO. I have no doubt that SiG will make it good and replace the slide.

Hey look on the bright side, you found out early that your slide metal is defective.
                              Have a good day!
