I went to the bar tonight and shot pool for the first time in about 14 months. I used to be a pro 9-ball player but I had to stop playing. It WAS SOOO MUCH FUN and it COMPLETELY took my mind off my gun also.

i travel for work... so between the 10 day wait, LGS closed days, and work travel, it's usually a 2-week wait.

Then add that to the fact that my last 8 purchases were in a 2 month span, the 1 in 30 has become a 1 in 35-40.

10 days is a pipe dream for me!

I usually buy some gun related accessories to kill the waiting time. Mags, ammo, bags, holster, etc.

It's soooo intense. You could PPT me a $5,000 1911 and I would be less interested in it than this gun. I cannot explain it, I guess i'm actually a little emotional about this firearm too which is wearing me down
i can relate. when i finally landed the w german P220-E after all those years, i only took it home after a 'many' months extended layaway. during the 10 day wait my excitement prompted me to purchase several 'very hard to find' obsolete original OEM magazines that were made to only function in 'that' variant of the P220. i picked up a second set of OEM grips (also obsolete and very hard to find) from the online auction circuit. it's a good thing that no further money was due on pick-up day.

it's not always how many times you've made the walk that defines the journey.

Appointment as the FFL is flooded with customers doing SSE's, 4 days
Wait after the last handgun purchase, 30 days
CA mandated wait after DROS, 10 days

Having as many non Roster handguns as time can afford, priceless

Use the time to buy accessories that you know you will need and use... not frivolous stuff you might not need or use, buy extra magazines, ammo, cleaning supplies, gun cases, etc... watch YouTube videos of field stripping, reviews, etc... use the time to enhance your purchase so you can just strip it, clean it, and shoot it when you pick it up.

Either that or stay away from gun stuff and put it out of your mind and do other things. Don't think about it too often.

If you think the 10 say wait is bad, try back to back 30 day waits...

                      stupid 1/30 rule sucks.

                          LOL.

Before buying your handgun, buy 9 long guns, one each day for the 9 days prior. That way you can pick up a long gun each day until your handgun comes in.

This is the best answer here.

I'm in the same boat I have about 48 hours to pick up a VP9 and a 2.5" 686+ performance center. It's not usually a big deal for me but I'm really excited for the revolver.
