UPDATE: I listened to the overwhelming feedback and did not buy this gun. Thanks again for the quick replies. I'll keep an eye on the auction in case the price comes down to a more reasonable level.

    Dude, you just bought one!

Nevermind what we think is "worth it", would you buy this if you hadn't already just bought two other 1911s? It certainly has a lot of stuff on it ... are they things you would buy for the TRP you just bought? Would you really want the extras?

Are you smitten with the looks only?

I'm not saying it's a good deal or not, that depends on you.

You can, of course, always earn more money later, right?

You want it, you know you do. Don't ask us, just get it if you want it. Sell it later if you don't.

If it has features that you would pay for, then be happy they are already installed on the gun and get it. Remember SSE is going away soon in the current political climate.

You could get a Springfield "Professional" for $2500. I wouldn't pay that much for it.

I would not, very cool looking gun but also not very practical. But then again never been a fan of the full rail. For that money I would add a few more dollars and try to find a Wilson, Brown, Nighthawk etc half rail.

I love the stainless look on it. Better then the black IMO. Although I wont get rid of my Full Rail TRP Operator for anything. I just feels to right in my hand....

Me personally? No. If I had the funds and it was something I really wanted, yes. Only you really know what it is worth to you. This particular TRP just isn't to my tastes, so take that for what it is worth. It is a nice firearm, but if I was in your shoes and given your recent purchases, I would find it a little redundant.

Dont do it, you have one! But at the end of the day its your choice.

This! Save your money and start looking for a Professional.

Please keep in mind that your local FFL is required to charge you tax regardless of whether or not a gun is new or used. You will be charged the tax because if not your FFL will have to pay it at the end of the year. So the price goes up considerable.

A full rail TRP is a cool gun, but none of the addons for that gun raise the price enough to even make it a consideration at that much over what you can buy a new one for.

                      Pass.

If the gun came stock, are those modifications things you would have paid to get done yourself? If not, then they're not worth $800 to you.

I don't think you have to SSE it since it is the California model.

As pointed out, at $2,500, you're well within the realm of semi-custom pistols, and just a few dollars short of a Springfield Professional, which far exceeds the fit and finish of the TRP.

                            A year ago, maybe.
