Looking for an HK VP9?

So Kentucky Gun Co. is your "LGS" where you bought your $589 VP9? Didn't think Kentucky was local.
And you might want to go back through these pages. You'll find that I (and others) have posted about the $589.99 Kentucky Gun Co. price last time they were in stock. And before that, Cross Creek Guns who also sells them for this price.
Bottom line is, you are full of it. Go away.Comment

Not quite true. Others have posted that there are places letting these go for $695 OTD. Just browse through the thread. I just placed my name on a wait list that is about one month to one and a half months out for $695 OTD.Right, $795 OTD is a steep price to pay says the guy who joined in on this thread a day or two ago. So, how much did you pay? And where are all the LE models being sold for $835 OTD?
Getting the VP9 for $800 OTD or under is a good price. It's equivalent to paying about $600 or less for the gun from out of state and then paying the fees to your CA FFL (tax, transfer, SSE, DROS).
Hell, there are CA FFL's selling them for between $749 to $799 before tax and DROS.
If you want to guarantee that you will own the VP9 before the end of SSE and you find it for between $800 and $900 OTD, then buy it. Sure, you might get lucky and get one from a CA FFL for between $750 and $780 OTD (by avoiding the SSE fee) but not many will be that lucky and holding out for such a deal might mean you end up missing out on the VP9 all together. Then your stuck buying a used one in 2015 for probably $900 to $1000.
$795 OTD is not a bad price. Consider $625 + $20 shipping (G&R Tactical) + $75 for transfer and DROS + $50 tax (8% Sacramento) = $770. But saying that its is almost the only option is false. We still have a long time before the SSE process is shut down. Do not panic buy and search around for deals. Heck, this thread is doing a great job of keeping people informed of deals and stock. I found out about a good place to get a VP9 from here.IANYL. All post are made for my own personal entertainment purposes and should not be relied upon as legal advice.Comment

Norcal is more saying that if you want it just buy is as long as it's 900 ish. Also 100 or so dollars isn't really anything over the life of a handgun. Not quite true. Yeah but it takes a bit of money out of the running for more guns for those who are trying to do one or two more SSEs before the year is up.IANYL. All post are made for my own personal entertainment purposes and should not be relied upon as legal advice.Comment

I did not say that "it's almost the only option". Just stating that passing up on the gun because of $100 or so might not pay off at the end. HK shipments probably come to a halt this month (August shutdown) and no one knows for sure what the inventory for the rest of the year is truly going to look like. Not trying to induce panic buying, but at the same time, no one can guarantee what the VP9 market will be the last quarter of the year. Or how busy SSE will get and if LGS decide they will only SSE guns that they have sold to their customers. Not quite true. Others have posted that there are places letting these go for $695 OTD. The bottom line is that we could possibly look back at the end of the year and view July and August as the best time for CA VP9 purchases.
And $695 out the door is an awesome price for CA residents (I'm jealous!). I have been following this thread but have not memorized all of the deals. If someone is willing to wait on a list and hope these deals come through, more power to them. Personally, I can afford to spend a hundred or so more and get my purchase done right now.
Thanks.
Very true, if the extra cost of the VP9 is going to cause someone to come up short on another purchase, then they will need to decide what is the best move for them.Comment
