Thanks for your guys concern, but I know my son better then anyone else. I first shot my father's gun when I was 3 y.o. shot guns ever since. If he's anything like me, he'll be responsible and then some.

I'm sure it comes down to jealousy to the fact that your son has more trigger time than some people on this forum.

I've shot next to kids, and they play it safer than most new adult shooters.

The fact is, it's a lot more dangerous to tell an adult how to raise a child, than shoot next to a supervised (experienced) 4yr old at the range.

I think what you have done for your son is awesome, and he will only benefit from the experience taught to him by his father!

Presumption here is that Dad, having the skills he has shown with the assembly, knows what the hell he's doing.

I was waiting for the off point lecture from someone, and it turns out it is from someone with 2 posts. Yea, I know, that shouldn't negate what that person says. But it does make me wonder.

I'm sure OP takes his parental responsibilities extremely seriously.

I seldom use the word "COOL" but for this instance, that thing is "Very Cool" for your son.

Why not a vertical handgrip from MAgpul in the front? If I understand correctly, one hanging off the front does not make it a non pistol.
Plus side, better control for him and someplace to keep his hands so they don't slip forward of the handguard.
