Yea, I would add a hand stop for safety..the only down side is the barrel length. with a 22 and such a short barrel that thing wont hit much past 50yrds,will have lots of flyers
and if a child is using it i wouldnt like the fact of no hand stop.easy for a child to shoot his hand.sorry but my 2 cents.
not safe for a 4year old.
but i do like how small it. (adult use)
Nice plinker.. I got mine an S&W 15/22 and a Henry lever action..Member: Patron member NRA, lifetime member SAF, CRPAOriginally posted by tony270It's easy to be a keyboard warrior, you would melt like wax in front of me, you wouldn't be able to move your lips.Comment

How about a Clark aristocrat rib sight?

Low profile, but not entirely sure how it mounts.

Most impressive is the time spent with you son. Time spent interacting and teaching is priceless . Good job dad.California's politicians and unionized government employees are a crime gang that makes the Mexican drug cartels look like a Girl Scout Troop in comparison.Comment

Alright, updated on the irons...
I was debating on getting the mp7 sights and it caught my attention. So since I wanted to go out ASAP I tapped a small screw into the front to act as a front post ( for elevation) and I opened up the smaller ghost ring in the rear (for windage) so my boy can see through.
Here it is.. I'm using my set of old PTS since i didn't want to mess up on my actual MBUS. Haha..

now I hope it has enough room for elevation adjustments. Haha..Originally posted by GottmitunsIt's not protecting the rights of the 1%, it's IMPOSING new laws because of the 1%.Comment

Laws against murder and attempted murder should have been the only gun control laws ever needed in America...Comment

I'm gonna be the buzzkill here.
I'm all for guns but I am sorry there is no reason a 4 year old should have his own gun or be shooting guns. Your son may seem responsible and mature enough to handle a firearm but he is not. He does not fully understand the gravity of what can happen with a firearm. If you think a 2 1/2 year old should be holding a gun even with supervision you are what gives responsible gun owners a bad name.

I shot my first gun at six( Remington model 24) and started shooting the rifle regularly by the time I was eight. Now I understand what your saying and agree with some of it, but there is this. It's not you and it's not your son.
I personally don't think and am of the opinion the platform is not a wise choice for a young shooter same as with pistols. I say this mainly for two reasons 1. the short barrel length 2. The semiautomatic action( I am assuming this gun is semi auto) . The short barrel is easier to point at one self without taking the finger of the trigger. And the action makes follow up shots just a trigger pull away, which again in my high and infallible opinion isn't good for an un experienced shooter.
Does it make some people uncomfortable? Yes.
Is it the best display of common sense? Not really but Opinions abound.
Is it hurting anyone or anything? No.
So it's his family and his choices he is responsible for and I doubt he cares what you or I think about it.
I hope no one gets hurt and that's about it. And if/ when they do that's on them and yeah it will be sad , but have you looked at the world recently? It's a sad place.
As far as a bad name what are they going to do? Regulate your right to own guns away? Wake up its going to happen anyways. Do you honestly in your heart believe gun laws and those who write (that's you Lee)them are trying to protect people?WTB m&p 9 5?

You should never tell a man how to raise his son...

I very much agree with the above posters.
I started my step-son shooting at 5 yrs old with his BB gun, at 6 he got his savage rascal. I personally agree with hilltrucking about the semi auto factor. My step son is about to turn 7 now and I just got a heritage single action revolver for him to shoot.
At the same time nobody knows your son like you do and I'm sure he's heavily supervised. My feeling is that it's better to start them early and make sure they know what a gun can do.Originally posted by ar15barrelsSo you are throwing out 95% of reality to select the 5% of reality where you are actually right?
