yeah but i have no excuse for not seeing the missing pins...and yes i did clean before using...no i did not lose the pins nor did i remove them for cleaning

If the pins are not there you should be able to remove the trigger unit. Is this possible. Try removing slide then see if you can remove assembly should slide out top with a little effort

I have the California version and my buddy has the "free state" version. I have compared both versions side by side. There is no difference on the tolerances between the slide and the frame.

That pic looks like a PPK/S during the disassembly process. That's how you pull the slide back, up and off of the frame. That's pretty bad if S&W cranked that one out without installing all the pins. That might affect the inaudible trigger re-set that everyone is talking about.

That hole behind the thumb safety is for the pin that retains the sear Housing.

That's probably why the slide at the rear looks so high, it's lifting the sear housing out of the frame.

I too, apologize if my comment was inappropriate. I destroyed my knee at work the other day and the pain meds they gave me while waiting for surgery kind of seperate me from reality.

I used to live in a major fire area and I know what you are going through. One time, I had all my valuables loaded in my car for 4 days waiting to hear if I was going to have to evacuate. Good luck and I hope they don't come close to you.
