It's not set at $1,000 but I don't want to jump all the way to $1500+

I've read around and the consensus in extractors is that internal is the way to go.

I'm open to either or in the guide rod length so that's not a problem

A USA brand would be nice but I wouldn't turn down a quality gun because it wasn't made here.

On roster would be preferable so I don't have to do the sse

And yes I looked into those recover tactical options but I think I would rather just have it be integrated to the gun, and not be a full length.

*edit* I'm also not in a big rush so I waiting around for a used colt rail gun or Dan Wesson or trp in the handgun forum is an option, But who knows how long it would take! I also can't stand that 2-tone green/black operator. Just doesn't do it for me. Would rather have black haha

Kimber, Springfield or Colt is the only way to go. I have 2 out of 3 and saving for the S/A TRP.

Thanks for clarifying where you stand on what you want OP.

Based on your last post, I think the Sig is still a really good bet. Another option for a few hundred dollars more is the Kimber TLE/RL II or the Kimber Warrior II.

I would personally choose those Kimbers over the Sig. In fact, I did. The Sig is solid, just not for me. You may like it.

        Good luck!

I've got Kimbers and Springfields. No real issues with any of them.

Around 1k? Used PM7 used Springfield range officer, I've even seen Springfield TRP go as low as $1200 used but I didn't jump on it since it wasn't what I was after.

Ya im set on the trp or the tle/rl ii. palmetto state arms had one for 840 bucks NIB and i just went to pull the trigger (no pun intended) and now they're out of stock.

Looking back at the CA DOJ Roster it says that they're only allowed in blued steel and stainless. Ive never seen a blued steel one only the black and stainless. Is the black what they're referring to as blued? because it referred to it as black matte oxide or something similar on other sites.

I just want to make sure before i purchase one online it is still on the roster.

Again, thanks for all the help guys

PSA also has the desert warrior II for $1058.99 NIB, but its in the FDE finish and I don't see that on the roster, only the "blue steel", which again i've never seen. Is that out of the question to buy new as well then?

For TRP make sure the model number you are getting is in line with the roster if you want to avoid having to do SSE.

The Desert Warrior II is essentially the same as the Warrior II that I recommended above, but off roster and will need SSE.

Make sure you are aware that there are additional costs associated with buyimg online and SSE. Factor those in.

                    Good luck!

Palmetto State Armory is having a ridiculous Kimber sale right now. You can get a Custom II for $633 or stainless pro carry II for just over $700....umm, yes please!

Blued steel is black, but looks shiny and give off an iridescent look at certain angles in light. Black usually means a coating, parkerized, Armory Kote, Nitron, etc. However, not all bluing looks the same. Colt's Royal Blue looks amazing. The bluing on my Baer looks good, but not as good as my CZ 97B. Bluing is also not as tough as the coated blacks out there. Scratches will show up and you'd need to reblue to get rid of them. With stainless you can usually polish or reblast (if the stainless is bead blasted) to get rid of the issues.

Does anyone know if the black tle/rl ii in black is on the roster? I see a blued steel version in the roster but I've never seen a blue steeled version. Is Cali just dumb and refers to the black oxide as blue steel? Or have I just not come across a blue steel version?
