    AK Pistols

Looking into getting an AK pistol soon (not sure what kind yet) but before I do, I just want to be clear on the legality. I did some research and read up about the single shot conversion (to circumvent the BS California drop test and off roster status). But my question is, if I purchase one of these from a gun shop will it need to have this single shot conversion and, if so, can I convert it back once I purchase it. Thanks!

It will be transferred to you as a single-shot pistol.
After you take possession of it, you can modify it to be a semi-auto pistol with a fixed 10 round magazine.
(this is done by removing the 0 round magazine/sled and inserting a 10 round magazine)

While in CA, it must always have a maglock and can only be used with 10 or less round magazines.

Thanks Quite! So literally all I need to do is change the magazine out?

        Yes
If you need help with any stragglers, call a friend, because it's likely that they have a gun. America in particular have done exceptionally well taking care of the problem, as there are 1.12 guns for every 1 American citizen. So throw a rock, you'll probably hit a gun, pick up that gun, then shoot a zombie.

I just bought a Draco from Atlantic Firearms; they do the conversion for you and ship to your FFL. They are great guys.

What happens then? Did they close a loophole?

Proposed legislation (AB 1964) that would change the single-shot pistol exemption to only apply to break-open single-shot pistols and bolt-action single-shot pistols.

Good to know. I'll snag one up this summer. Any recommendations on what kind I should get?

Currently, the best value is the Zastava PAP M92 PV.

Since, you are in Orange County... RifleGear, in Fountain Valley, has them for $499.00

I havent seen a 74 pistol for sale myself.
That M92 is sweet. It has the longer sight radius like a real krink which I like.
