A Bear Permier II is the way to go. Proload has these in stock and has the best prices around. Getting mine for $1530.00. Call John and ask him about options. Make sure you have atleast 1/2 hour to spare. He will talk your ear off and is an excellent guy.Comment

Yeah, I'w seen the Colt and like it and like the fact that its blued. My uncle has it. I wish the polish was as nice as the python though. The only thing about the Colt is that its hard to come about and I have to settle for used. I think I'm gonna check out the Les Baer before I purchase anything though.Comment

I don't have the Permier II yet. Should be here in another 4 months or so.
To tide me over I have a TRS to keep me company. It is my USPSA gun for now. The sights are not great for action shooting. Much smaller than the adjustables that come with the PII. I made a last miniute change of a fiber optic front as well. I believe all California friendly Baers except for the Super Tac are blued. Not a bad thing. The blued finish is flawless when new. It is getting a bit worn but I think it just looks better with age.

If you want a start up go for a SA, Kimber or Colt...If you want a shooter/tool gun, go for the Baer or Brown (any would do the job), if you want a masterpeice work of Art, smooth from the get go out of the box without any break in period and reliable as hell; go for a Wilson Combat or Nighthawk... if you want perfection and have plus $5,000-$7000.. go for a Yost/Adams/Jimenia/O'Hare full custom builds. Me, i've owned at one time or another most of the above except for the "Perfection" (I've only had the Yost) Oh and BTW, I'm sure WC/NightHawk or any one of those guys can accommedate you no front serretions issue... you are only stuck with the front surretions if you buy used (which sometimes can save you up to $1,000), but if you have a custom one ordered, it can be done, you just have to call

If you don't like front serrations check out the Springfield Custom Carry. Hopefully I'll have mine in hand within the month. Be prepared for a wait though.
