    Which 1911

Guys I cant make up my mind on which 1911 to get. Here are my choices.

    1. Colt S70 Gold Cup NM. (Realy like the blue finish and the fact that it has no serration in the front) Also with this one I got a realy look to find one.

    2. Ed Brown Exec Target or Special Forces. Again I like the no serrations part. Realy like the Classic Costom for the polish but tought luck for Cali. SP is not blue though.

    3. Wilson Combat. This I just started to get into. Never realy looked at WC due the the slide forward serrations but after reading alot about it, I made it #3 on the list.

    Any thoughts whould be appreciated.

I had my cerrations removed when I was a kid.

    I've never looked back.

    I even got free ice-cream.

    YMMV.

Where's Les Baer on the list?

Buy the Colt - any time you can find one of those, don't pass it up.

Les Baer will make any gun without the front cuts.

Les Baer SRP > Ed Brown Special Forces > Wilson | Colt NM Gold Cup

Id say Les Baer should be on that list! But with what is up there I would go with the Wilson! check out the Les Baer SRP

I just checked Les Baer. looks promissing. Is it true that they can do without the front cuts? Also I saw a cal model DCM match that they had, does anyone know if its blued. Tell you the truth I do not have much experience with Les Baer or semi-auto handguns for that matter. I have several rifles (semis and bolts) and a colt python. Definitely looking to add a 1911 to my collection and maybe a sig also

The DCM is blued. It's a beautiful gun. I'm not a huge fan of adj. sights, but for that type of thing (DCM) it's awesome. If you want *one* 1911, buy a Baer. If you want *a* 1911, get anything of decent quality. You'll be buying a Baer later though.

all of those choices would make the average man drool all over himself.

that being said, i like the finish of the wilson and Ed Brown better than the Les Baer. They seem smoother and more durable. fit and finish on all of them are remarkable. my personal choice would be a wilson, cause they feel the best in my hand, and my friends would all be jealous.

                          good luck with the choice.

Odd... I could have sworn I'd handled hundreds of different 1911s from over a dozen different manufacturers and I'm fairly certain that with my eyes closed I couldn't tell you with any certainty the name on the slide based on the way it felt in my hand.

Now had you said you prefer Wilson because they shoot best for you...
