To anyone who knows...does the sending FFL have to do the SSE before shipment, or can the receiving FFL in California do the SSE after it arrives in CA?

About the same. Buying local usually means you pay more than online.

Buying online means you then pay the $1-150 for transfer and sse

Legally you can do either, but it depends on what your shipping ffl and receiving ffl are willing to do

Really appreciate the straight answers do my simple questions. The whole SSE thing really confuses me, but I think I understand now. Too bad CA closed the loophole and that it will go away next year!
