OC Armory once again forced me to buy another cool handgun

While I do love my Glocks I am also a longtime 1911 nut. I already own several since long ago or in another life...

I have a dedicated Dillon 1050 set up for .45 ACP. Serious reloading of that wonderful round.

So today I drive over to my favorite Gun Store, OC Armory in Laguna Hills to buy a Surefire Muzzle brake for one of my AR builds..... The wife is at Macy's for the shoe sale....so why not....?

As usual Mike, Patrick and Joe are busy as Bee's helping out a crowded store. No worries......I will just sit down for a minute and look over the Surefire....hmm, nice looking........I glance over the glass gun case on the left and a BRAND NEW RUGER SR1911 YELLS MY NAME...!! .....BOB...BOB...HOLD ME!!!

(Has that ever happened to you...?)

Joe (the Dad and also an Archeologist like my daughter who is in New Zealand digging up stuff as we speak).... Is over by the case.....'Hey Joe, hand me that Ruger 1911 for a second...

Joe slides the 1911 out and hands it over.......he snickered out loud....
It took me 11 seconds to make my decision.

The best part is the price. $700 bucks.........Dang, that's a good deal.

Yeah, I hid the receipt in the glove box.......picking up the wifey at Laguna Hills Mall she jumped In the car and I showed her the "Neat Surefire Muzzle Brake".

She smiled and we went to have lunch......shhh...don't say anything.

***OC Armory has another new in box Ruger 1911 in stock****

Fit and finish is superb and Hickok45 likes it.

She's mine in 10 days... (Cell phone pic).

Fewer people are killed with all rifles each year (323 in 2011) than with shotguns (356), hammers and clubs (496), and hands and feet (728).

$700 is a good price in Cali. Unfortunately Fresno is more expensive than the rest of Cali, and I paid a bit more for mine, but I don't regret it. Definitely a great gun.

        Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Mike & Pat are awesome... I was just there Sat to fondle the XDS & Shield to see if they're for me since I got my CCW last week... glad I went... neither were for me...

I did see that Ruger tho, good thing I didn't ask to handle it!

I might be going to Mike for that Sphinx SDP I've been eyeing... group buy from the other thread? or GB? yea Hickok45 likes the Sphinx too

No. Mikes camera shy...haha....he looks like a Rock Star since he drop kicked the glasses via LASIK across the street. I might do that myself.

I don't know anyone more knowledgable or helpful than Mike and the crew at OC Armory. They go out of their way to help.

Congrats Ocean Bob! I had the similar experience with them on the HK P30L LEM. Sat down to do a PPT, saw the P30L under the glass, asked the sales to hold it, asked Mike how much OTD, then said I will take it. It maybe a bit over 11 seconds

An easy way to solve this issue with impulse buy is to let your HSC expire.

I didn't bother to renew mine and have saved myself $1500 in 2 weeks.
