    Glock 20 SF

I was considering buying a G20 SF, anyone have any insight on the gun's recoil etc. Also any up grades they have done to their own personal gun. Thanks for the info.

I have the G20,need the SF or a Gen4 since i have smalish hands.I HAVE to use both hands even if i wanted to play cowboy and shoot with one.Recoil using 90% of the ammo out there is like a .40 cal +p load, pretty light. When using real 10 mm like Underwood will give you a strong upwards pulse, but steady and smooth.Basically it makes you use your shooting fundamentals, but double and triple taps are easy after the first box.Awesome weapon, convertible to another amazing round,.357sig,with a barrel conversion, just switch barrels as desired. Finally, mods,i just have Trijicon night sights, and plan on a lasermax guide rod laser, and a 20 lb. spring.Hope this helps.
Blessed be the Lord,my God,who trains my hands for war,and strengthens them for battle.

Check this gun for sale thread for upgrades. Looks like all of the bases have been covered.

Its a Glock.. it needs no upgrades other then a pair of new sights.. maybe a extended slide and/or mag release if you need it.

10MM Glocks are some of the best, most versatile, most powerful handguns in the world.

Think about reloading 10MM to cut ammo costs.

Shooting full power loads like Underwood, DT and Buffalo Bore can benefit from a heavier recoil spring as it prevents battering of the frame. There will be more felt recoil with a heavier spring but it prevents that "snap" when the slide hits the frame. And as an added benefit if you run .40sw in your gun the brass will just literally drop to your feet, 10mm will fly into the next county rather than the next state with the stock RSA.

I say buy one. You will never feel out-gunned with 15 rounds (in a free state) of 10mm, ever! I would get upgraded sights of the flavor of your choosing. I like the Warren Tactical Sevigny fiber optic sights and possibly Talon Grips and a heavier recoil if your shooting ATOMIC loads. ...and maybe a 6" hunting barrel.

I recommend against the 6" hunting barrel. Get an aftermarket company 6" barrel, so that you don't have any concerns over lead.

I prefer KKM, others prefer others.

Other than that, take up loading your own so you can make full power ammo, instead of the commercial crap.

Just got a g29 and couldn't believe how fun/pleasant it was to shoot. I've shot other glocks and own a g17 I'm not a fan of but this little 10mm is awesome.

Great advice....the chamber support for the aftermarket barrels are great. I have a KKM myself. I'm still new to the 10mm world and really need more trigger time. The 10mm actually got me off my butt to start reloading. I want a solid load to train with. I still have a flinch but am determined to get rid of it!!! I also found an extra Hogue laying around and slapped it on. Since I'm planning on training with hotter loads and am running the 6inch pretty much all the time, I needed to upgrade to the 22lb spring with the stainless steel guide rod. That's a must have if you are going to do the 10mm thing as hot as possible.

Nice Ocieanbob! I'm sooooo on the fence with doing the white lettering upgrades. It looks so good, but part of me wants to keep it the way it is.

To hi-light the lettering or not to...that is the question.

If you are a glutton for punishment, do the 10mm Glock!!! I just love it.

I have a few G20SF's and G29SF's. My favorite Glocks.

For the 20SF's, if you are running very hot 10mm loads, a 22lb recoil spring will help keep the slide off the frame. For any loads below Underwood velocities, the stock RSA will work fine and give a softer recoil feel. I use the Glockmeister 22lb ISMI spring on a captive SS guide rod. The spring will cycle my lightest 40S&W loads out of the same gun, although the brass does land pretty close by.

As Oceanbob pointed out, 10mm is a wonderful caliber to reload, very flexible.

Picked one up a couple months ago, liked it enough it ended up on my ccw alongside my compact 9mms. I dropped in a 6" KKM precision barrel, 22lb recoil spring, and because its my only handgun with a rail, I went ahead and put on a streamlight TLR-1.

Recoil is nothing crazy. I've put varying weights of Underwood through it. Stock barrel didn't like 220 gr hardcast much though. I say go for it, you won't regret it.

How many rounds of buffalo or underwood would it take for that rmr to explode? 1 mag? Less? Hilton made one die with 9mm i can only imagine the abuse of 10 on one.
