price...does anyone know of any issues or problems with the p227? i am considering buying one but I'm not too sure if i should hold off until its been "proven". from everything i have read i was only able to find one or two people reporting an issue with their p227. all other reviews have been good. from what i am reading, it seems that sig did a good job with the p227.
Other than that, it's a hot .45 gun with the outstanding quality from Sig

The P227 magazine is slimmer than the Glock 21 & USP-45 magazines and is more comparable in size to the HK-45 & M&P-45 magazines.i am looking for open. i know the safari land 6280 holster will work with the p227
my main concern is the magazine holder. i am coming from a glock 21sf. I'm pretty sure the magazines are similar in size to the glock 21 but I'm not sure (maybe someone can measure?) i have read that the p250 magazines are identical to the p227, with the exception of the baseplates. so if i can find a mag carrier made by safariland that will fit the p250 mags then i will be set. i wonder how big the p250/p227 mags compare in size to the usp 45 mags?Last edited by Quiet; 04-23-2014, 8:13 AM.sigpic

You are correct. It's off roster.
Check out the sticky about SSE:

P227 fits P226 holsters
P227 carry fits P229 holsters
P227 carry SAS fits P229 non-railed holsters
Extra girth in the grip is 'made up' with the E2 grip and the short reach trigger.- It is no longer Republican vs Democrat; the battle of the 21st century is authoritarian (Rep+Dem) vs libertarian.

Klogg...hit up EBR here on the forum. They are in Newbury Park. I drove there from Corona, and I would do it again.Last edited by Livetoride33; 04-23-2014, 9:49 PM.Comment

EBR is short for Evil Black Rifle. EBR Works is a vendor here on this board that has the 227 in stock for SSE. There may be other vendors here that have it too, but having recently purchased mine from EBR, I am recommending them.Comment

I second this. My wife and I have purchased both our M&Ps from EBR as well as her SIG P227 Nitron. I also currently have an M&P Shield in jail with them.
They have a sub forum here on Calguns and HERE is their webpage.Comment

I just DROSed my P227 from Robby at Golden State Tactical in Fair Oaks (Sacramento area). It wasn't in stock but he was able to get it in just a few days and SSE was free for guns bought from him.
1SAM, I don't have a caliper for great accuracy but I measured the magazine body at roughly: 15/16" wide x 1 3/8" front to back.Comment

When I deciding between the Glock 41, FNX45, HK45, and P227, went back on the day I was told the 227 would arrive and was told they received it the day prior and it was broke in the box and boxed to return. Then told Sig is not what Sig used to be-which was to mean quality. I was a bit bummed but knew I was leaning towards the FNX anyhow and glad I had. 15+1 of .45 is nice. Can also vouch for EBR, outstanding people.Comment

I Just picked up my P227 from EBR yesterday and they are great to do business with - very responsive to calls and emails. This was my first SSE purchase and I would certainly use them again.
The P227 magazines just fit the mag pouch that I have for my 9mm CZ75 (Uncle Mikes double stack dual mag pouch). I measured the mags with calipers and they measure 23.5mm x 34.7mm.
For a holster I picked up a Desantis Speed Scabard that fits the p220R/P226R as it has three belt holes which allows you to wear it either completely vertical or canted. It is a nice leather holster, but it fits pretty tight so unless it loosens up quite a bit, I may have to get a Kydex holster to use in IDPA, but I really do like the leather one quite a bit.
Here is a picture of the mag pouch and the Desantis Speed Scabard:
