Should every Glock owner also have a conversion barrel ?

The only reason that I have any Glock other than G23?
...is that they haven't made it in a Slimline yet, so I got a G36.

In my opinion, yes, it is worth it.
My Gen 3 40-9 set-up has been flawless.
Beware though - my experience with Gen 4 is that the 40-9 conversion barrel requires a recoil spring for the 9mm to work properly. It also prefers 124 gr ammo.
Thanks to ElDub for this!

I have to disagree. My g23 is flawless using just a stormlake conv barrel and believe it or not my 40 mags work like a charm with 9mm ammo..,I used to think that conversion barrels where a great idea.
But the point of aim was very different with the conversion barrel.
I ended up having to dedicate a gun to the conversion barrel and adjust the sights to match.
It is not worth it.
Do the math.
Conversion barrel 125.
3 conversion cal mags 75
Ejector 25
Total $225
GSSF new complete glock in that other cal $425
For the extra $200 I would rather have an extra complete gun.Looking 4" Python 686/ Redhawks, Les Baer.... East Bay NorCalComment

I just ordered two 10mm barrels for my glock 20, after seeing this youtube video. not conversion but longer barrels. I ordered a lw 6 and a monster 9 inch barrel.
I also have a 10mm to 40 barrel for sale in the market place for $60 glock 20Comment

Not necessarily conversion, but I prefer the rifling in the aftermarket barrels. I'd put a barrel in it of the same caliber most likely. Or if I ever got a glock 29 I'd get a 9x25 Dillon barrel and use it exclusively as that, rather than a 10mm at all.

Thinking about getting a conversion barrel for a Glock
I have done a lot of research on different types, brands, etc. but have not heard any problems with any? Well, besides maybe tighter chamber tolerances .....
I'm thinking along the lines of premature wear, corrosion, poor quality?
Should every Glock owner have a conversion barrel as well?
LOL, no. I've owned a dozen Glocks and not one conversion barrel, no desire or need for them.My opinions are my own and do not represent the position of other companies I may be involved with.Comment

Good choice. I really like the 9 inch because the length increases the speed without bumping up the handload powder charge.I just ordered two 10mm barrels for my glock 20, after seeing this youtube video. not conversion but longer barrels. I ordered a lw 6 and a monster 9 inch barrel.

Almost like a rifle.

I haven't had the need for a conversion barrel. My Glock 20 shoots 40 s&w just fine with the stock one. I may get a 9 conversion for my 23 in the future though just so I'll be able to shoot even cheaper."Suck on my machine gun" (Ted Nugent)
