I just jailed a 9mm. I love .40. I got the 9mm bc it's also for my wife. If not for that I would have gone with .40.

If you prefer .40 in general go with it.

Is there any place that has the 9mm barrels in stock? I don't see an option for the Shield on the Storm Lake website.

The shop called this morning said they got a 9 in that I can SSE. I decided to get that first. My wife said I should get both, but I'll have to wait 30 days.

I don't know if I would want a .40 in a sub compact. Plus you loose round count, which is already low to begin with.

Now how's that for a cool wife? Keeps me poor though.
                  Good wife, good round.

P.S. She could be keeping you poor buying purses.

I have the 9mm Shield. In my opinion, for my uses, there is not enough to gain by going with a Shield in .40 with todays ammo choices. Just my opinion.

I pick up my Shield in 9mm tomorrow. If I had it to do over again, I would have bought the .40 and the extra barrel and mags, having a gun that can shoot two calibers is always better. And I hate .40 but it does have more power than the 9mm and I have inexplicably started to acquire .40 S&W brass, even though I don't own a .40 S&W gun, people give it to me, I find it when I pick up at ranges, etc.
