IMO, these guns are limited use guns. They are small and meant for LTC holders to carry around. 1,300 seems a lot for that. I mean for that money, get a range gun that you can get more use out of, and pay the $500 for the shield instead.

That's my opinion of course. I've shot a friend's EMP and it's nice. I just picked up a Shield, but in retrospect, I'm not really sure why I bought it. I don't have an LTC (yet) and I have much nicer 9mms to shoot (CZ75 SA, for instance)... so what's it's purpose? Future LTC. Why did I get it now? Well, nothing gets cheaper in this world (except computer RAM and harddrives!) but mostly because of Calguns hype!

So, if we determine that the gun is for CCW and that both guns are reliable, why not get the cheaper one? Also, the Shield would probably be less prone to rust in you sweaty underpants where you are carrying it.

Remember to dial 1 before 911.

Forget about stopping power. If you can't hit it, you can't stop it.

    There. Are. Four. Lights!

I've probably sent 1500 rounds down my EMP since purchasing 2.5 months ago (2 weeks out of commission due to being at Geneseo for a failed front sight tritium lamp). I like it because it's more challenging to shoot well VS full size 1911s. The light frame, short sight radius, narrow mag well and sharpish recoil of 9mm make your shooting shortcomings stand out.

If you can shoot a compact defensive pistol, everything else is easy.

My .02 worth what you paid for it.
