EMP' & Shield 9mm..

Visit my LGS today, planning to DROS' a Shield 9', all sold out. Only 40' available, so I handled one and liked the look & feel of this M&P. Sales person told me to put a deposit and next batch is coming very soon, so I did.

Went to another shop, no M&P', nada. Then sales guy told me they just got one EMP' in. I had to see this one, it's been on my list for a long time. Comes with 3 mags, NS...OTD around 1.3k !!

I liked them both, which 9' should I Dros' first? I really want to take all !!

The EMP is an awesome gun. I sold mine...I really wish I didn't especially today when I saw one at my LGS. IF money is not an option I would much rather have the EMP than the shield.

EMP is an awesome gun. But it's also a lot more at 2.5x the price of the Shield. I've owned the Shield 9mm and shot the EMP. The EMP feels better constructed in my hands and has a nicer trigger. However, IMO both shoot about the same to me from a defensive stance, with a similar overall small frame size and similar recoil feel.

Both will ultimately get the job done. It all comes down to what you want and what you're willing to spend. And worst case if you get the EMP and need to sell it later, they hold their value well and sell pretty quick in the Classifieds.

I'm leaning toward EMP' more, it's a very unique piece. If I get it, it will be a keeper.

I have never handled a Shield but I own an EMP in 9mm. Of all my pistols it shoots the best and is such a nice gun. You can't go wrong if you got the cash. They were really hard to come by when I bought mine several years ago now and stumbled upon on and dropped the cash. No regrets. The Mags you get are really nice and they used to put a coupon in and you can get more mags for a great price.

Funny. I have an EMP and just bought a Shield.

I think they serve as different players on the same team. Which one you call to the plate changes based on the circumstances.

The EMP is the right size gun for the 9MM for CC.

Pricey to be sure, but nine plus one in a compact light weight 1911 style pistol.

Points naturally, dependable and reasonably accurate.

It's not a target pistol. Yet it has more power than a .380 in a platform that has proven to be reliable.

Sweet! The EMP is very nice - built from the ground up to be a micro-1911, not a chopped up regular 1911
